The Student Grant:The primary goal is to alleviate students’ financial difficulties by reducing the economic burden on both students and their families, thereby enabling them to continue their education and promoting equal access to educational opportunities. Financial aid is prioritized for students facing economic and cultural disadvantages; however, students with special needs may also receive emergency support through dedicated programs. Donated scholarships and grants are awarded based on the donor's specified intentions and criteria. Various types of financial aid programs are available, including Donated Scholarships and Grants, Fulfillment Scholarships, External Scholarships and Grants, Giveback Scholarship, Sunshine Financial Hardship Grant, and Dreams Soar Scholarship.
Scholarships:The university emphasizes academic achievement, professional skills, and artistic talents. The Office of Academic Affairs offers scholarships for academic excellence and merit-based awards; the Student Affairs Office promotes holistic student development through programs such as the STAR Scholarship, the Outstanding Student Award, and the Excellent Graduate Student Scholarship; the International Affairs Office provides scholarships for overseas and international students; and the Research and Development Office announces various scholarships and grants from businesses, organizations, and foundations. In addition, each department and program has its own scholarships funded by alumni, faculty, and corporate donations, and the university's general scholarship fund also provides departmental scholarships based on each department's strengths and development goals, fostering the development of professional talent. Donations (Various Donor-Established) Scholarships:Scholarships and grants funded by private donations are available for application by currently enrolled students.
NTNU Fulfilling Dreams Scholarship:This grant is awarded to support students with disabilities, children from low-income families, indigenous students, overseas Chinese students, international students, and students from middle- to low-income households, in order to encourage their continued dedication to learning.
External (Notification by Letter) Scholarships and Grants:Various scholarships and grants are provided by government bodies, corporate organizations, and individual donors.
NTNU Giveback Scholarship:Aiming to assist financially disadvantaged students in the University to focus on their studies and alleviating the pressure of tuition and fees and living expenses during their studies, we hope that the recipients of this scholarship can be grateful for the support they receive and give back to their alma mater in the future in the spirit of sustainability.
Sunshine Financial Hardship Grant:Under the mentorship of Dr. Mei-Chun Lin, Vice President for Student Affairs, students Chang-Yin Chan, Ho-Tsung Chiu, and Chieh-Kai Wang from the LOHAS Executive Master of Business Administration (LOHAS-EMBA) program have jointly launched this financial hardship grant. Its purpose is to provide assistance to students in urgent financial difficulties, enabling them to focus on their studies without financial distress.
Dreams Soar Scholarship:This initiative is part of the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Sprout Project. It supports economically disadvantaged students through structured learning programs and awards scholarships upon completion. The goal is to enhance their life adaptability and encourage future exploration.
Special Attribute Grant in Departments and Graduate InstitutesTo reward students for their engagement in academic research and participation in international exchange activities in view of promoting the research atmosphere and academic standards in the University.
STAR Scholarship:Established to encourage students to embody the school motto of integrity, righteousness, diligence, and simplicity, foster outstanding talent, and reward students for pursuing diverse development.
Outstanding Graduate Scholarship:To encourage outstanding graduate students in doctoral, master's, and in-service master's degree programs to continue their academic and professional development.
Excellent Student Selection:These Selection Guidelines are promulgated to acknowledge students at National Taiwan Normal University who excel both in character and studies and have demonstrated excellent achievements.
Outstanding Student Selection:The Directives Governing the Selection of Outstanding Students are formulated in view of encouraging the students of National Taiwan Normal University to carry forward the spirit of the school motto: honesty, integrity, diligence, and modesty. The selection is aimed at cultivating the all-round development of students and recognizing those who have made contributions to the University and society as role models for their peers.
